BBL Power Rankings Week 2
Here is our latest update for the BBL Power Ranking based on this week’s games:
1st Leicester Riders (-)
How crazy that we are two weekends in and Riders are yet to play a game. Even
2nd Newcastle Eagles (-)
They look to have grown much stronger as a unit since the opening weekend and looked like their old deadly selves during certain
3rd London Lions (-)
Lions are establishing themselves as one of the top teams with an easy dispatching of Wolves. They are probably the team that
4th London City Royals (-)
They have won all three games so far this season but are less than convincing. As a new team
5th Bristol Flyers (-)
They showed exactly how good they can be this weekend against
6th Glasgow Rocks (-)
There is no doubt that they can play and some of their perimeter ball movement is scary good. However, they are struggling to play the run and gun style that much of the BBL do and this has caused them problems.
7th Sheffield Sharks (-)
Sharks are season experts at starting the season slowly and picking up the pace as the progress. This was underlined further by Friday’s surprising defeat to Manchester Giants. Not lots to be worried about but plenty to work on.
8th Cheshire Phoenix (Up 1)
Cheshire
9th Surrey Scorchers (Down 1)
They must be feeling hard done by sitting bottom of the league after three strong performances. Their lack of size has been an issue and will continue to be but expect them to move up the power rankings in the coming weeks.
10th Manchester Giants (-)
Although they lost this weekend they will take comfort from the fact that they ran one of the predicted top teams to the final moments of the fourth quarter. Although the playoffs may be a step too far, it is going to be a much better season for Giants fans.
11th Plymouth Raiders (-)
The crucial games for Plymouth
12th Worcester Wolves (-)
Things are not looking great at Worcester. They have yet to settle into a rhythm or find their style. A whimpering performance at Lions will not of help already shaky confidence.
