BBL Power Rankings Week 7
Just a few moves this week but plenty of teams are teetering with potential major movement in future weeks.
1st Leicester Riders (-)
Leicester is now in a precarious position at the top of the table. They lost one this weekend and if it wasn’t for a dodgy roof in Crystal Palace it might have been two. Things aren’t as rosy as usual in the Leicester garden.
2nd Newcastle Eagles (-)
Eagles made hard work of knocking over an slowly improving Wolves roster. If they want to make it back to the top of the rankings they need to dispatch lower level teams with ease.
3rd London Lions (-)
Turning over the Riders in Leicester is a big statement and probably does deserve to move them up the table. There really is now a big three in the BBL and it is welcome from most.
4th Bristol Flyers (-)
We will wait and see how a weekend off will impact the Flyers as they face the Riders this coming weekend. An upset win this weekend could see them a strong top four contender.
5th London City Royals (-)
The will be slightly embarrassed by
6th Sheffield Sharks (-)
The ownership of the Sharks will have breathed a sigh of relief after a much needed big win over the Phoenix. They are too inconsistent at the moment to warrant a position higher up the rankings.
7th Cheshire Phoenix (-)
There is no doubting that they have the explosive talent to make waves but getting them all to sing
8th Plymouth Raiders (Up 2)
The arrival of Hassan has made them look a completely different proposition. Expect them to move further up the rankings in the coming weeks.
9th Manchester Giants (Down 1)
Giants are one of the most consistent in the league. The issue that they have is that their consistency is at a level that will mean that they are going to be fighting to make it to the post-season.
10th Surrey Scorchers (Down 1)
The resurgence of the Raiders applies even more pressure on the Scorchers. As it stands it is going to be a tough task for them to make the playoffs. Roster changes are surely imminent.
11th Glasgow Rocks (-)
Rocks ownership are hoping that the weekend off will act as a reset button for their season. They have assured Makem Takem that they aren’t going to make any changes so how are results going to change?
12th Worcester Wolves (-)
They are slowly improving and are likely no longer going to be the new whipping boys of the BBL. That said it is still unlikely for them to move off the bottom of the rankings.
